- Saturday February 11- YIN YOGA 101
12:30-2:00 with Karen Nicholson Cobble, FREE - sign up for this workshop
YIN YOGA is a restorative and quiet practice which fosters a state of deep relaxation. A Yin practice balances our fast paced and busy (Yang) lifestyles, and is great for just about anybody!
Yin opens up deep and dense rarely touched areas of connective tissue, balances the nervous system, repairs joints, stretches ligaments and tendons, and increases range of motion. Most postures are done sitting or lying and held for 3-5 minutes. Because of the duration of Asanas, one of the key values cultivated in this practice is PATIENCE.
- Saturday February 25 - Your Greatest Conversation (athletes-focused)
12:30-2:30 with Mara Abbott, $20/$30 - sign up for this workshop
What if it were not the advanced yoga pose that you found interesting, but rather that you deeply desired an advanced relationship with your own body and its capabilities? What if you wanted to understand and come into fully effective collaboration with your physical self? What if you wanted to have command of both how to cultivate your power and nurture your muscles and tendons? What if you, as an athlete, wanted to be fully empowered to care for yourself and reach your personal greatest potential?
In this workshop, we will investigate an advanced study of yoga. This does NOT mean you can touch your toes. This does NOT mean you can balance on one leg. This workshop is designed for the athlete who seeks an advanced relationship with his or her physical body. We will begin with a powerful flow in which will investigate the movements that create activation and how they engender opening. The class will then lower in tempo as we delve in to the concepts of restoration, and even nurturing. We will end with an invitation to the creation of a dynamic and investigative personal practice, empowering you to continue to support your own growth and evolution as an athlete and human being.
Mara Abbott spent six years as a professional cyclist, winning two National Championship titles and the 2010 Giro Donne. She credits a large support in her cycling practice to be a constant and dynamic personal practice and investigation of yoga.

Vinyasa, the flow from one pose to another, will be included. If you have never taken a yoga class, or if you would like to go back to basics, for whatever reason, this will be a great class for you. It is also a great practice to improve strength in core muscles and extremities.

- Saturday April 28- Tibetan Heart Yoga: A Deep Dive into Kindness
12:30-2:30 with Jaimie Epstein, Jivamukti Yoga Teacher, $20/$30 - sign up for this workshop
Most of the asana practiced in the West works from the outside in -- changing the shape of the outer body to allow prana to flow more smoothly, which then affects the quality of the mind. But Tibetan Heart Yoga works from the inside out -- changing the quality of your thoughts, which influences the purity of your prana, which affects the shape of your physical body. Incorporating many postures familiar to you from hatha yoga, plus some fun new ones (slayer mudra! the hook!), Tibetan Heart Yoga is a moving meditation that will transform you and your relation to the world in a deeply profound way. Come -- be transformed!!!
