Introducing Head Coach: Connor Corrigan

As a swim technique specialist Connor Corrigan honed his teaching/coaching skills at a grass roots level working with young swimmers just approaching the competitive level of performance.  Connor’s passion to teach and lead young athletes in the pool is what led him to the coaching profession. After proving himself as a highly effective and motivating assistant coach it is with pride that we introduce Connor Corrigan as The Head Coach of RACE.

Connor Corrigan was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado where he began his swimming career for The Meadows Swim & Tennis Club. It was there that he developed a keen understanding of the community and friendships that form the foundation of a successful swim program. He swam for Fairview High School in Boulder , Colorado where he made State cuts.  Connor’s desire to compete on a higher level became apparent as he consistently improved and transitioned to RACE as a year-round swimmer.

Connor’s commitment to RACE, a USA Swimming Program, provided him with the understanding of what it would take to swim in a Division 1 NCAA Swim Program.  Connor was recruited and swam 4 years at The University of Denver where he maximized his talent through dedication and commitment to hard work.

I believe that becoming a successful swimmer and athlete is not only about putting in the work at practice but having a good time and enjoying the process along the way. My philosophy of teaching and ensuring proper technique will develop a powerful stroke and reduce the chance of injury.  I believe that a well-rounded athlete makes for a great swimmer. Our team goal is doing the right yardage, with proper technique, and developing long-lasting friendships to make it fun. Swimmers will become faster by performing the strokes correctly to maximize power and enjoying the process of learning and loving the sport.” – Connor Corrigan
